Connect Claude (MCP)

Connect Claude to deepgreen so you can explore your data in a Claude conversation — or vibe code any dashboard you want in Replit, Claude artifacts, and more.

Connect Claude to deepgreen and explore your data directly in a Claude conversation — or vibe code any dashboard you want in Replit, Claude artifacts, or any other tool that speaks MCP. List your models, check sync states, and query your data without leaving the chat.

Every setup path below uses the same connector URL:

https://api.switchboard.build/mcp

How it works

deepgreen connects to Claude as a custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, setup has two halves: a workspace Owner enables deepgreen once for everyone, then each person connects their own account in a couple of clicks. Individual members can't add a custom connector themselves.

Pick your path:

Enable it for your team (Owner)

Only a workspace Owner or Primary Owner can do this, and only once. It happens in the admin console, which is separate from Settings and Customize.

In a browser, go to claude.ai/admin-settings/connectors — this is Organization settings → Connectors.

Click Add, hover over Custom, then choose Web.

Enter the connector details, and leave the advanced OAuth fields blank:

  • Name: deepgreen
  • Remote MCP server URL: https://api.switchboard.build/mcp

Click Add. deepgreen is now available to the whole workspace.

Enabling the connector does not grant anyone data access on its own — each person still connects and signs in with their own deepgreen account.

Redirected to Customize instead?

If claude.ai/admin-settings/connectors redirects you to Customize, your account isn't the workspace's Primary Owner, or custom connectors aren't enabled for your plan. Confirm who the Primary Owner is, or contact Anthropic support. Anyone who needs access before then can use the fallback.

Connect your account

Once an Owner has enabled deepgreen for the workspace:

Open Claude Desktop or claude.ai, then go to Customize → Connectors.

Find deepgreen in the list — it's tagged Custom, usually under Not connected — and click Connect.

Claude opens your browser. Log in with your deepgreen account and approve.

Back in Claude, the connector shows Connected. In a chat, open the connectors menu in the message box and make sure deepgreen is toggled on.

Fallback: per-user setup

Use this only if your workspace hasn't enabled the deepgreen connector and you need it working now. It runs mcp-remote, an open-source bridge, on your own machine — so it doesn't depend on workspace settings. You'll need Node.js installed (it provides npx).

Open Claude Desktop's config file — via Settings → Developer → Edit Config, or directly:

  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json

Add a deepgreen entry (merge it into mcpServers if that key already exists):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "deepgreen": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://api.switchboard.build/mcp"]
    }
  }
}

Save, then fully quit and reopen Claude Desktop.

A browser window opens for the deepgreen sign-in — log in and approve. deepgreen now appears in your tools menu.

Verify it works

Start a new chat and ask:

List my deepgreen models.

Claude should return your models. A few more prompts to try:

How many data sources do I have connected, and what's the sync state of each?

What columns are on my Customers model?

What were the results of my most recent build runs — did anything fail?

Permissions

The connection acts as you. A connected user inherits the same permissions they have within deepgreen — Claude can only see and query what your deepgreen account can, and nothing more. Roles, groups, and document shares apply to the connection the same way they do in the app.
